But you guys seem to like 'Sick Julie' because my blog hit an all-time high yesterday in page views. So keep reading ... and I promise to keep things interesting!
Still no word from the doctor as to what I should do next. I'm wondering if they think this is just going to go away since my CT scan and blood work were fine. Obviously this isn't going away and with an upcoming business trip I'm getting a little frustrated and concerned. Plus, I'd like to eat a meal again soon. If you were me, what would you do? Call back and nicely ask for a next step at the risk of sounding like an annoyance? Let it go a few more days to see what happens?
Oh, and want to hear something else funny? When the pain in my stomach got so bad today, I took a sharpie and made dots on my stomach to show where it hurt. So that I could go to the doctor and say HERE. Am I crazy?!!!!! You don't need to answer that, really.
Speaking of food, for brunch (yes, we brunch when we work from home at times) I made myself a pretty fantastic smoothie. I even remembered to take a picture but then lost the image. Blogger photo fail! But, this morning's mixture was as follows: almond milk, spinach, kale, carrots, banana, strawberries, blueberries, ice & Amazing Meal. It's a soft food and it's low fat so check that off the list!
Shaun had to drive to West Virginia for a work meeting today and he was sweet enough to bring me Starbucks - a grande skim vanilla rooibos tea latte, extra hot, one pump Classic syrup - on his drive home. Sometimes it's the little things in life!
In no particular order, the components of The Perfect Travel Outfit:
1 - Easily removable & comfortable shoes - here we have some classic Nike cross trainers that are a) easy to slip on and off at security b) totally legit to run across a terminal in given a close connection and c) black, so they match everything I own.
2 - Comfortable pants that give - the last thing you want to do is sit on a plane with your gut being pinched by jeans that are too tight. No one's looking at you when you're sitting down. Be comfy!
3 - Layered tops - I cannot predict the temperature on a plane. You cannot predict the temperature on a plane. But you can plan ahead so that if it's cold, you're covered & if it's hot, you can strip down. Just don't be that guy in a sleeveless tank.
4 - A scarf - this is not just a scarf. It is a shield from sick people sitting next to you. It's also a blanket, which is my personal favorite. And it can double as a pillow. Or if you spill something, you can use this to clean up. Not that you'd want to, but you COULD if needed.
5 - A headband and a hair tie - it's easy to look like a hot mess after a flight. Save yourself and be prepared to pull your hair back out of your face. Or just start with it there like I typically do!
And no, lululemon did not sponsor this post. I wish! But that is where the pants are top are from. These pants are even lined with wunder unders. Seriously awesome!
It should also go with saying - as my Christmas tree is in the background - that this is The Perfect Travel Outfit for WINTER. Check back in June for the summer version :)
