Maybe it's the cold, or the upcoming holiday season and our need to do all of our shopping online before Thanksgiving so that we actually have gifts to give to people when we are home, but we've been on a Patagonia-inspired shopping spree. Friends have been super helpful recommending the best cold weather gear, and I can't wait to have this and this to wear! I also snuck in a pair of these. Clearly not meant for the snow, but they are the BEST boots in my humble opinion! And no, we didn't pay full price for anything. It's amazing what you can find on eBay, BackCountry & Altrec!
On the food front, we've been eating in quite a bit. I made a large batch of chili last week which lasted for several meals, and another go-to has been some local chicken sausage with wild rice and/or a green vegetable. We hosted a small dinner party with our next door neighbors, who were kind enough to bring over marinated olives stuffed with almonds, cheese crackers and chips with guacamole and fresh salas from Tres Carnales. I served stuffed peppers (and learned I wil always use red instead of green) with a side of rice for dinner and picked up some cupcakes (red velvet, chocolate truffle, vanilla sprinkle and strawberry cheesecake) from Bee-Bell Bakery, the bakery I discovered at spin! We also had some garlic toast, because after all, nothing says welcome to your new neighbors like garlicky breath!
Now showing you the perfect way to spend a day. Football, the hubs, pups, the iPad. Perfection.
