In life news, I started a new full-time marketing job here in Edmonton two weeks ago and am really enjoying it so far. I won't go into too much detail on the blog due to the nature of the business and the fact that it's not sports/health/fitness-related like my last job (and thus, not as relative here) but I am loving dressing up for work each day and heading into a professional office. While I certainly think I made the best out of working from home, there is something to be said for being in an office with co-workers, especially at this time in my life. I'm feeling blessed and very happy about it all.
In training news, things are heating up! I'm steadily riding three times each week, 90 minutes or so per ride. Every few weeks, an endurance spin - 2.5 hours mimicking a course - is added in. Running a couple times during the week with a long run each Saturday after spin. I'm becoming addicted to trail running, especially with the snow. I don't know how I will handle ever going back to sidewalks and pavement. (I'm not kidding.) Doing my best to lift three times/week but have been slacking there. I really need to pick this up if I want to stay injury-free and strong. I'm getting in the pool once or twice a week, but this too is about to pick up since my friend and 'coach' is determined to swim five days a week. (If she brings her swim time down, she'll qualify for Kona, so I am 100% supportive!) And lastly, yoga. Needed for both physical and mental strengthening and healing, I'm managing two days per week now and hope to be at three soon.
