Side note: I totally think - actually, I want to say I KNOW - that dogs can sense when you're not feeling well. These two have been as lovey as ever lately and last night, Hailey slept with me with her head on my pillow and her paw on my arm. Somewhat annoying but super sweet at the same time. I couldn't push her away.
After our walk, breakfast looked like this. Sorry for the poor-quality phone pics as I don't have the camera nearby today. Plenty of water, a skim latte and another bowl of greek yogurt, strawberries, sliced almonds & gluten-free granola.
In other news - and frustrating news at that - apparently the PA I saw last Friday had written follow-up notes in my charts but no one ever called to inform me of these. So thank you wise people - it's good that I called.
First, to clarify the notes the last 'low fat-preaching' nurse left in my files because they were COMPLETELY INACCURATE. She made NO MENTION of my fevers (stating they were non-existent) and noting occasional stomach pain when eating. And no nausea. I mean, I guess I can understand some discrepancies, but this is way off.
Second, to learn that my next step would be to meet with a GI specialist who will most likely have me undergo another endoscopy. Considering my last one was a year ago, this is probably wise. Although I dread them because my body does NOT handle anesthesia well at all. But I'll save that for the post when I go in for this test :)
In the meantime, since the symptoms aren't going away and the stomach pain is only increasing, I am heading in to see another general internal medicine physician tomorrow morning. I'm a little hesitant that anything is going to immediately come out of this, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? I'm also going to give my chiropractor a call. I haven't seen him lately and believe it or not, he is the only person who has ever been able to get my other stomach issues under control. Plus, he's an amazing person and has kept me 'generally healthy' more so than anyone. Why I didn't do this sooner is beyond me. It's time to get back into that routine.
I wasn't feeling a complicated or time-consuming lunch, so I threw together a Lenten special: eggs. I jazz them up a bit with fresh basil. Fresh herbs = everything better!
I truly am the lucky one. I will get this figured out soon enough and I will be back to my everyday full-of-energy, swim-bike-running self again before I know it :)
Lastly, on a completely different note, if you are looking for instrumental music to play while working or just relaxing around the house, check out the Balmorhea station on Pandora. This recommendation came to me from the lovely Heather and I've really been enjoying it lately!
