But speaking of fireworks, apparently we'll be able to see them from our balcony tonight. But since they can't start until 10:45 pm given the sun never sets here, I might be asleep. Then again, I live on THE party street in Edmonton without A/C and it's 90 degrees today. Who am I kidding, I'll be wide awake!
One thing I need to remind myself is that I am swimming/biking/running my own race. I train with some really fast and talented athletes (which I know makes me better) so it's easy to feel slow and/or not good enough. I have worked hard and am proud of what I've accomplished to date. Regardless of the time, crossing the finish line will be momentous. I've been dreaming of this day for years. Now it's time to make it a reality. (And then double that in late August.)
Thank you all for your support over the past few months. I can't tell you how exciting it is for me to receive a 'way to go' text or a motivational message on Facebook. These little things push me every day and will be internal fuel on race day. I promise to do my best to make you proud!
